How it all started? Back in 2009,when I visited United Kingdom,I met young creative people below my age and I wanted to be like them. My aunty told me you can be like them,but you have to find that one thing you are passionate about. Well,I knew what I liked and love back then. I loved to draw and play with colours.
So on this faithful day,we went to the cinema with my cousin,and while watching a silent movie,I was busy sketching the dog I saw on screen.So when my aunty saw it,she was like;Yes that's it,you can sketch so why not get into painting and all that. My response was,I can't do painting for a living but I will think about it.
So when I got back to Cameroon,Off course I came back with some cash. Point is,the money wasn't for business at the beginning.I was spending it with friends. So I put up a sketch of a dress on Facebook,and my childhood friend Evaristus saw it and told me,I can hook you up with this amazing designer I know. My reply was:I am not ready for that,and if I want to do it,I wanted to go to school. He said no its good u give it a try before you talk about school.
I think it was September or October 2010, he finally introduced me to Anrette Ngafor.
So I remembered meeting her at formal Alliance Franco Cameroonaise and I had my sketches with me. Trust me I was scared but I had to give it a try as Eva said.
Then we met and Anrette saw the sketches and asked me some couple of questions(sorry I can't remember any). But I know I responded positively.Then again I told her I wanted to go to school and learn this properly. She was like;You mustn't go to school to learn this,I think you are born with it,I can see it in you.All you can do is start with some fabrics. Long story short,she gave me my first invitation to her event as a designer to showcase 🙌🙌🙌.
I was excited but did not know where and how to start.
So I had to join forces with some couple of friends who were also talent and we came up with this sweet name TIA MAC REN. We did our first show 27 DEC 2010 and I went for Anrettes show as well. Then I felt like a designer. All I remembered was the brand name,making news on top blogs from Cameroon to the world..

Wow... This is so cool Shortyma... Like for real... And regarding Tia Mac Ren... Guess those are initials to Tia's Reneta and Ion know the other person Mac. Buh yeah... Where are they now. Well bout Tia if na ei I know, what's she into now. And sup with Mac too
